Bolivia

Bolivia was a Spanish colony until independence in 1825. Simón Bolívar enforced this by military force and the country was subsequently named after him. It is a landlocked country in South America. Bolivia is characterised above all by its ethnic and cultural diversity.


Before issuing its own stamps, there was a British post office in the then Bolivian town of Cobija from 1863-1878
